Accelerated tree removal on light rail route due to safety concerns

The final stage of tree removal along the Northbourne Avenue median will now take place during March to ensure the safety of the public and construction workers.

Tree felling was scheduled to occur in three phases, with stage two being completed at the end of February and stage three to occur later in the year. However following recent safety checks of the trees, the final phase of tree removals will now occur through March to ensure safety of workers, motorists and the general public. read more

Road opening creates better access to Gungahlin Town Centre

The ring road system on the eastern side of the Gungahlin Town Centre will soon be complete with the opening on Monday (13 February) of the Manning Clark Crescent extension.

Horse Park Drive changes in force from this weekend

Traffic conditions will change on Horse Park Drive between Anthony Rolfe Avenue and Well Station Drive from tomorrow (Saturday) as vehicles are diverted onto the new carriageway to allow this stage of the duplication to be completed.

These temporary arrangements will be in place while the existing road receives upgrades, streetlights and new signage. read more

Road resealing on Curran Drive

Road resealing work on Curran Drive in Nicholls is starting this Monday 16 January 2017 to extend the life of the road pavement. The work will involve resealing the existing road surface and replacing the line markings. This will require temporary road closures to be put in place.

These works will be conducted on both east and west bound lanes of Curran Drive from the Barton Highway to the eastern intersection McClelland Avenue. read more

ACT Policing is investigating a single vehicle incident which occurred within Exhibition Park in Canberra (EPIC) on Thursday, 5 January 2017.

Traffic arrangements for Summernats City Cruise 2017

Canberrans should expect delays as a result of rolling road closures from midday on Thursday 5 January along the Federal Highway and Northbourne Avenue to allow the Summernats City Cruise to take place.

Road resealing on Gungahlin Drive

Road resealing work on Gungahlin Drive south of Ginninderra Drive is expected to be completed over three days starting Wednesday 4 January 2017 to extend the life of the road pavement. This work is being done in January to lessen the impact on motorists. read more

Traffic lights operational at the Barton Highway intersection

Construction will continue in the new year at the Barton Highway intersection following the traffic lights being switched on this week.

The third lane on the Barton Highway southbound approach over the bridge will be completed in early January 2017 and the William Slim Drive approach will be completed in February 2017. Some delays on these approaches are expected until these works are complete.  read more

Special Christmas holiday bus timetable for the festive season

A message from Transport Canberra. Buses will run a revised bus timetable over the Christmas and New Year period, starting from Monday 19 December 2016 until Friday 6 January 2017 inclusive.

The Christmas holiday timetable will run over three weeks to reflect decreased passenger demand during the festive season. A Saturday timetable will be in place for both Christmas Eve, and New Year’s Eve. read more
