Sportsgrounds to close for renovation ahead of the winter season

All ACT Government irrigated sportsgrounds will be closed from Sunday 18 March to Saturday 31 March, 2018 (inclusive) to undergo necessary renovations, which are carried out twice yearly at the beginning and end of the summer sport season.

“During the shutdown period, all ACT Government irrigated natural turf sportsgrounds will be closed and unavailable for formal hire, allowing much needed biannual maintenance work to be carried out,” Transport Canberra and City Services, Director of City Presentation, Stephen Alegria said. read more

Gungahlin Jets announce major sponsorship with Gungahlin Club

Today the Gungahlin Jets Board of Directors announced the Jets has signed a new major sponsor in the Gungahlin Club.

This sponsorship provides the club with a home for post game awards and major club functions throughout the year. The club will also provide a shared administrative office and home base for the Jets. read more

Record numbers of parkrunners at Gungahlin

New Years day saw a record number of participants take part in a special parkrun event at Gungahlin. On New Years day parkrun hosted events at Tuggeranong at 7:30am and Gungahlin at 9:30am allowing people the option to take part in both events, the only day of the year this is an option.  read more

Jets set to take off with key coaching appointments

It is with immense pleasure that the Gungahlin Jets announce their Division 1 Coach – John Love. John joins the Jets after having a year off to study a double Masters. John has an extensive coaching and development history with AFL Canberra and the Belconnen Magpies. He was an Under 18 GWS Academy coach (ACT), Under 16 AFL Canberra Representative coach and has coached multiple Indigenous Academies including the Adam Goodes Academy. John also held the role of AFL Talent and Coaching Manager – ACT South Coast from 2012 to 2015. In this role, John was responsible for coaching development in the region at Levels 1 and 2 and managed the talented player program. read more

It is that time of the year where the Gungahlin Jets dissolve the 2017 Junior Committee and form the 2018 Junior Committee.

The focus of the Junior Committee is to provide the kids of Gungahlin and surrounds a safe and enjoyable football experience where the players can continue to develop the skills required to succeed in our great sport.
