Jets set to take off with key coaching appointments

It is with immense pleasure that the Gungahlin Jets announce their Division 1 Coach – John Love. John joins the Jets after having a year off to study a double Masters. John has an extensive coaching and development history with AFL Canberra and the Belconnen Magpies. He was an Under 18 GWS Academy coach (ACT), Under 16 AFL Canberra Representative coach and has coached multiple Indigenous Academies including the Adam Goodes Academy. John also held the role of AFL Talent and Coaching Manager – ACT South Coast from 2012 to 2015. In this role, John was responsible for coaching development in the region at Levels 1 and 2 and managed the talented player program. read more

Gungahlin Jets 2018 Junior Committee - Call for Nominations

It is that time of the year where the Gungahlin Jets dissolve the 2017 Junior Committee and form the 2018 Junior Committee.

The focus of the Junior Committee is to provide the kids of Gungahlin and surrounds a safe and enjoyable football experience where the players can continue to develop the skills required to succeed in our great sport. Gungahlin Jets 2018 senior coaching positions

In 2018 the Gungahlin Jets Australian Rules Football Club will field teams in AFL Canberra’s Division 1, Division 2 and Under-18 Rising Stars competitions.

Expressions of interest from suitably qualified applicants are being sought now for the positions of Head Coach – Division 1, Reserves Coach – Division 2 and Rising Stars Coach. read more

Gungahlin Lakes Supports Local Sporting Community

Following the recent vandalism at the Gungahlin Jets’ home ground which saw extensive damage of facilities including playing fields and canteen, the community sports club is now faced with the cost of repairs while deprived of the crucial revenue raised from the canteen.

Having recognised the heartbreak of the Jets club and community, Ainslie Group President Wayne Rogers presented a $5,000 donation on Wednesday 21st June to the Gungahlin Jets Junior Football Club on behalf of Gungahlin Lakes Golf & Community Club. The donation will see essential funds immediately available to the Jets while they get back on their feet during this time of need. read more

Gungahlin runner to take on 90km Comrades Marathon

Kelly-ann Varey is heading to South Africa tomorrow to take part in the Comrades Marathon which is a 90 kilometre race being held on the 4th of June.  read more

Catch a free bus to see the Giants play Port Adelaide at Manuka

Fans going to watch the Giants take on Port Adelaide this Saturday can travel by a Transport Canberra bus to and from the match for free.

First bounce is at 4.35pm, with gates opening at 3.15pm. The clash against Port Adelaide is the third of five Giants games at Manuka Oval this season, all of which will be serviced by free, chartered buses. read more
