Canberrans will have the chance to learn more about stage one of Transport Canberra light rail following the opening of Canberra Metro’s information stop.

From today, the community will be able to drop into the Canberra Metro consortium’s head office on Northbourne Avenue – the site of the former Canberra and Region Visitors Centre – to find out about the project and its benefits to the ACT. read more

Changes to EPIC Park & Ride from 1 September


Transport Canberra advises that the EPIC Park & Ride will relocate within the EPIC Showgrounds from Thursday 1 September 2016 to allow for the establishment of a site office as part of stage one of the city wide light rail network for Canberra.

“The office will be located at the site of the existing EPIC Park & Ride on Flemington Road which will be relocated within the EPIC Showgrounds from Thursday 1 September 2016,” Director of Public Transport Operations, Ian McGlinn said today. read more

Car sharing shifts into gear in the ACT


Canberrans will have access to another innovative transport option with the launch of a two-year trial of car sharing in the ACT.

Minister for Transport and Municipal Services Meegan Fitzharris said the trial will involve two car sharing companies, GoGet and Popcar, and will give people access to a small fleet of vehicles across the city.  read more

Reminder to Register to Ride to special Anzac Day events


With less than one week to go until the Anzac Day Dawn Service and National Ceremony, ACTION Chief Operating Officer, Bren Burkevics, today reminded people to Register to Ride for special free ACTION bus services.

“Over 1200 people have so far registered their desire to travel on the special bus services, which will be running from major bus stations as well the Canberra Centre,” Mr Burkevics said. read more
