From Wednesday 25 January 2017, Transport Canberra will be working with the community to ensure passengers are getting the best value out of their bus fares and that those entitled to concession or free travel hold the correct concessional entitlement.

Temporary disruption to bus services on tomorrow


Canberrans are reminded ACTION bus services will be temporarily disrupted tomorrow, Tuesday 28 June 2016, to allow for a meeting of all drivers.

“From 10 am to 2 pm tomorrow there will be no ACTION bus services in operation,” Acting Director of Public Transport, Ian McGlinn, said today. “During this time our drivers will attend a meeting with the Transport Workers Union (TWU) to be briefed on and vote on new shift arrangements. read more

Witnesses sought after bus driver assaulted


ACT Policing is seeking witnesses after an ACTION bus driver was assaulted in Ngunnawal on Wednesday (11 May 2016).

Around 3pm the driver of a silver Hilux Ute had stopped his vehicle in front of an ACTION bus, which was located at the bus stop on Galmarra Street in Ngunnawal. read more

Reminder to Register to Ride to special Anzac Day events


With less than one week to go until the Anzac Day Dawn Service and National Ceremony, ACTION Chief Operating Officer, Bren Burkevics, today reminded people to Register to Ride for special free ACTION bus services.

“Over 1200 people have so far registered their desire to travel on the special bus services, which will be running from major bus stations as well the Canberra Centre,” Mr Burkevics said. read more

ACTION is asking anyone wishing to travel on special bus services for free to the Anzac Day Dawn Service or the National Ceremony to ‘Register to Ride’ online to help ensure the public transport provided is reliable and accessible.

“Register to Ride will be used for the first time by ACTION to manage interest from people wishing to travel by bus to both the Dawn Service and the National Ceremony at the Australian War Memorial on ANZAC Day,” Minister for Transport and Municipal Services Meegan Fitzharris said today.  read more
