Police seek witnesses and dashcam footage of collision

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to a collision which caused significant damage to a guard rail on Horse Park Drive on Tuesday 11 April.

About 4pm, a vehicle collided with the guard rail on the westbound lanes of Horse Park Drive, Kenny, about 200 meters west of the Federal Highway overpass. read more

Police seek assistance to locate driver

ACT Policing is seeking the public’s assistance to locate a driver involved in a collision with a police vehicle in Palmerston on Wednesday 19 April.

About 9.30pm, police drove into the carpark at Palmerston shops where a vehicle reversed and collided with the marked police vehicle. The vehicle then accelerated away and fled the scene. read more

Police blitz over Easter period

ACT Policing is urging motorists to drive safely over the Easter long weekend and warns that double demerit points will be in place from the first instance on Thursday, 13 April until last instance on Monday, 17 April 2017.

Teenager to face court after aggravated burglary

A 17-year-old male teenager will face the ACT Children’s Court today after being arrested while committing an aggravated burglary in Ngunnawal yesterday (Wednesday, 29 March) afternoon.

Around 4:45pm police were called to a house in Ngunnawal after a report of a suspicious car and two men were seen entering a house. The car had previously been reported stolen and had come to police attention for failing to stop upon police direction and driving in a reckless manner. read more

ACT Policing is investigating a suspicious house fire in Ngunnawal that occurred on Friday (17 March 2017).

Police target speeding in February

Speeding motorists are in the sights of ACT Policing this month after more than 3800 drivers were caught during 2016.

Gungahlin Drive, Majura Parkway, Monaro Highway, William Hovell Drive and Belconnen Way were the top five locations where speeding motorists were detected. read more

Police generally pleased with driver behaviour over the long weekend

Canberra’s roads remained fatality free across the Australia Day long weekend (Wednesday 25 January – Sunday 29 January), despite ACT Policing detecting some irresponsible drivers.

Officer in Charge of Traffic Operations, Acting Station Sergeant Marcus Boorman said that while ACT Policing was pleased with driver behaviour in general, it is frustrating some drivers are not getting the message. read more

About 5pm, a woman was standing at the parking ticket machine near the bottom of the escalators when she was approached by another female. read more

Man to face Court following aggravated robbery in Nicholls

A 31-year-old man has been extradited from New South Wales to face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning (Wednesday, 11 January). Last year we reported Police seek assistance to aggravated robbery

The man was released from Cooma Gaol on 10 January 2017 and arrested by NSW police on behalf of ACT Policing. After appearing in the Queanbeyan Local Court for a hearing, he was transported the ACT Watch House a short time later. read more
