Police target driver distraction in September

ACT Policing are reminding drivers to keep their attention on the road as police target driver distraction this month.

Throughout the year, the multi-agency road safety strategy targets specific issues and behaviours which contribute to death and serious injuries on Canberra's roads, with driver distraction among those concerns. read more

Police frustrated with driver behaviour

ACT Policing is frustrated with the disregard for safety displayed on ACT roads during August as police targeted intersections as part of the multi-agency strategy.

Throughout the month, ACT Policing issued over 326 Traffic Infringement Notices for intersection related offences, more than triple the amount issued in August the previous year (107). The most common being stop signs offences with 161 drivers detected committing these offences , closely followed by traffic light offences with 86 drivers issued infringements. read more

A 27-year-old Ngunnawal man and a 23-year-old Moncrieff woman will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning (Friday 25 August) charged with aggravated burglary and theft offences.

Man to face Court for Gungahlin burglaries

A 38-year-old Kambah man will face the ACT Magistrates Court today (Wednesday, 16 August) charged with four Gungahlin burglaries and nine other related offences.

Following investigations into three burglaries in Harrison on 19 June 2017 and one burglary in Gungahlin on 14 August, members from Gungahlin Police Station and the ACT Police Targeting Team executed two search warrants in Kambah yesterday. read more

A 32-year-old Crace man will face the ACT Magistrates Court this morning on drug trafficking charges (Tuesday, 15 August 2017).
