Have your say on smoke-free public transport waiting areas

Canberrans are encouraged to have their say on whether public transport waiting areas, including bus interchanges, bus stops, future light rail stops and taxi ranks across the ACT, should be made smoke-free.

Minister for Health Meegan Fitzharris said Canberrans are encouraged to have their say on the proposal that would restrict smoking within five metres of public transport waiting areas.  read more

Accelerated tree removal on light rail route due to safety concerns

The final stage of tree removal along the Northbourne Avenue median will now take place during March to ensure the safety of the public and construction workers.

Tree felling was scheduled to occur in three phases, with stage two being completed at the end of February and stage three to occur later in the year. However following recent safety checks of the trees, the final phase of tree removals will now occur through March to ensure safety of workers, motorists and the general public. read more
