Police seek assistance to aggravated robbery

ACT Policing is investigating an aggravated robbery that took place in Nicholls on Wednesday night (27 April).

About 7.45pm two men entered the Celebrations bottle shop on O'Hanlon Place, approached the cashier, produced a firearm and made threatening demands. The cashier complied and the offenders took a sum of cash and cigarettes before exiting the store and fleeing in a vehicle. read more

Canberra enjoys quarterly crime decrease

ACT Policing’s newest quarterly crime statistics reveal a 10.5 per cent drop in crime reports across Canberra when compared with the same period last year, with Weston Creek displaying the largest reduction.

The data, released on the ACT Policing “Crime Statistics” webpage, shows the number of offences reported from January to March 2016 and allows Canberrans to see crime reported in their area. read more

Temporary closures on the Majura Parkway

The ACT Government wishes to advise motorists and other road users of temporary closures this Thursday 21 and Friday 22 April 2016 for the Majura Parkway opening event.

From midday to 3 pm Thursday 21 April 2016, the southbound on ramp from Fairbairn Avenue onto the Majura Parkway will be closed and traffic will be merged to one lane just before the southbound bridge over the Molonglo River. read more

Car sharing shifts into gear in the ACT

Canberrans will have access to another innovative transport option with the launch of a two-year trial of car sharing in the ACT.

Minister for Transport and Municipal Services Meegan Fitzharris said the trial will involve two car sharing companies, GoGet and Popcar, and will give people access to a small fleet of vehicles across the city.  read more
