Icon Water is asking our community to make the call to Dial Before You Dig on 1100 before planning construction works, to avoid damaging essential water and sewerage assets around their house.

We also need assistance from our community to keep a one metre clearance to water and sewerage assets, such as manholes and water meters, this will help our crews respond quicker to network issues. read more

More bike racks on ACT buses


It will be easier than ever to get your bike on a bus, with Transport Canberra announcing a further 33 buses in their fleet will be fitted with bike racks.

Director, Public Transport Operations, Ian McGlinn said Transport Canberra is currently in the process of installing the new bike racks, with all 33 to be installed on buses by the end of June 2017. read more

Temporary road closures for Gungahlin Bus Station works


Works associated with the construction of the new Gungahlin Bus Station are scheduled to begin next week and last until early August 2017. To allow the work to be completed safely, temporary road closures will be put in place on sections of Gungahlin Place and Hibberson Street. read more

Smoke haze around Canberra


Emergency Services Agency has advised that residents, especially those in the west of Canberra, may notice a heavy smoke haze around the local region.

This smoke is the result of prescribed hazard-reduction pile burns in Kowen Forest as well as other hazard reduction burns taking place in surrounding NSW. read more

From Canberra to Humpty Doo – The Spine Tingling Charity Ride!


Andrew made it riding 5,551 kilometer's from Gungahlin to Humpty Doo in the Northern Territory as an epic journey to raise funds for Spinal Cure Australia and Hartley Lifecare.

As reported last year Andrew to take on the Spine Tingling Ride in 2017, Andrew left Canberra on Wednesday 15th March and two months later on the 15th May arrived at his desitination. He has ridden through Quorn, Oodnadatta, Stuarts Well, Alice Springs, Wycliffe Well, Katherine and he will arrive in Humpty Doo around midday on Monday 15th May. read more

Light rail works at Nullabor Avenue and Flemington Road


Preparatory works ahead of laying of the rail are underway at the intersection of Nullarbor Avenue and Flemington Road from 7th May through to Monday 5th June. Road detours are in place.
