Dr John Deery - From the moment John started General Practice in 2003, he desired to one day open a practice. He is passionate about growing YourGP to fulfil the practice vision of ‘genuine care, clinical excellence’.

John practices in all areas of general practice with special interests in sports medicine, paediatrics, men’s health and minor surgery, including tongue tie release and wedge resection. He does a Friday morning vasectomy clinic at the YourGP@Crace theatre, see for more details.

John loves sport and was previously a school Australian decathlon champion. He played for the St George Dragons, the Sydney City Roosters and Sydney University Rugby while studying. More recently he has developed a passion for table tennis. He has just taken the title of YourGP tablet tennis champion from Dr Kit Wong.

John is a devoted IT geek and keeps the practice up to date with technology.

John and Mel have three gorgeous children. They have a strong Christian faith.

Dr Mel Deery - Graduate of the University of New South Wales 2000.

Mel says she loves being a GP and a practice owner. Along with her husband John, she is passionate about developing YourGP to better fulfill the vision of ‘genuine care, clinical excellence’. She feels privileged to work alongside such an amazing team of doctors, nurses and administrative staff.

She enjoys all areas of general practice with special interests in paediatrics, women’s health, pregnancy care and mental health.

She enjoys walking in Canberra, especially where there are views of the beautiful Brindabella mountain ranges. 

Mel and John have three gorgeous children. They have a strong Christian faith.

Dr Julie Beuth - Graduate of the University of Auckland in 1981. Dr Hewitt completed her GP training in Christchurch before moving to Australia in 1989. She worked in Belconnen as a GP for twenty-five years before moving to YourGP@Crace in 2014.

Special interests are skin cancer medicine/surgery and women’s health, but most of her practice is true general practice. Julie has two daughters. Outside of work she loves to stay active with her partner, they enjoy skiing, cycling, running and gardening. Julie regularly travels to New Zealand where she is growing vineyards and setting up a truffle farm.

Dr Ian Chan - Dr Chan grew up in Auckland. He moved to Canberra in 2011 to finish his studies in medicine at the ANU. He loves Canberra so he stayed.

He is currently completing further studies in paediatrics with a Diploma of Child Health through Westmead Children's Hospital. He enjoys teaching medical students. He enjoys all aspects of general practice. He has special interests in kids and skin cancer medicine.

He is very friendly and comes to us very highly recommended by his previous practice.

Outside of work he watches movies to relax, backs the All Blacks and plays tennis. (Dr Deery is going to dock his pay for supporting the All Blacks).

Dr Kyla Bremner graduated with honours from the University of Sydney in 2006. She spent several years working in Canada as a GP and Emergency Physician. Kyla and her husband have two young boys and they plan to make Canberra their long term home. Outside of work Kyla loves being active. She has represented Australia in wrestling at the 2008 Olympics. Special interests include paediatrics, women's health, menopause, aged care and lifestyle modification.

Dr Janine Kelly
is a caring and friendly doctor with eighteen years experience in general practice. She grew up in Sydney but calls Canberra her longterm home. She enjoys all aspects of General Practice with special interests in women's health, pregnancy and paediatrics. She is great with kids and has three young children of her own.

Dr Kit Wong grew up in Sydney and graduated from the University of Sydney in 2006. He has two young children. He has previously worked as a GP in Glebe. Prior to studying medicine Kit was a physiotherapist and has expertise in sports medicine. He also has special interests in paediatrics and skin cancer medicine. If booking for a skin check please advise reception as these consultations require one half hour.

Dr Kristin O'Neill graduated from The University of Sydney with first class honours in 1998. She has worked as a GP in Sydney, Dubai and most recently Singapore where she looked after expat Australians and New Zealanders, along with patients from 80 different nationalities. Her family has now relocated permanently and made Canberra their home. They have two children attending a local primary school. Dr O’Neill enjoys all aspects of General Practice with special interests in paediatrics, dermatology and travel medicine.

Dr John Petelczyc is a kind and well loved Canberra GP who has been practising in the region for over thirty years.

Dr Jess Tidemann studied medicine at the Australian National University. She worked as a specialist in training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at The Canberra Hospital before deciding on General Practice. She has most recently been working at the Sexual Health Clinic. She has interests in women's health, pregnancy care and paediatrics. She enjoys spending time with her family, especially her daughter, nephew and dogs. She spends most weekends doing DIY projects and gardening. We think she should buy shares in Bunnings.
